Alabama vs. Ole Miss

No disrespect to Ole Miss, but this week is more about staying healthy and getting prepared for the National Championship game with LSU. I believe us and LSU are the best 2 teams in the country, and whomever wins that matchup will go on to win the BCS National Championship game.

Ole Miss suspended players Brandon Bolden (running back), AJ Hawkins (center), Alex Watkins (guard), and Philander Moore (wide receiver). With all of those starters out on offense, the Rebels might not see the end zone. I would take Alabama minus the points in this one, if I were a betting man; and I am.

I’m ready to get this game over with before it starts. Its important for us to come out this game with no injuries and get ready for the next step with Tennessee. I don’t want to look too far ahead, but Tennessee will play us tough, yet will come up short. We won’t let it come down to a field goal in this championship run.

Enjoy the game and Roll Tide!!!!!!

Do You Believe Now!!!

I know some of you thought I was a bit off my rocker when I said Alabama would win the National Championship this year. Hopefully things are becoming more clearer for you after last weekends demolition of the Florida Gators. I know we aren't there yet, and yea we have some more big games ahead, but the picture is definitely becoming clearer to me. Vanderbilt will be tough for 1 quarter, Ole Miss will lay down early, Tennessee will give us their best shot, and the LSU will game will be the real National Championship Game. But we will win them all.

By now you know that our defense is ridiculously nasty!!! I think Mark Barron was mad that he only had a chance to get 2 tackles. Our guys up front, lead by Josh Chapman, were dominant all last Saturday night. Our offense is steadily improving and that starts with the o-line. Our O-line really impressed me last weekend. Florida has a lot of talent on their team and they didn't even get a chance to sniff AJ's jersey. They couldn't tell you if he showered before the game or not. So all of you put your Crimson Colored Glasses on and enjoy this ride to #14!!!

Game Time!!!

Saturday Oct. 1, 2011 Tuscaloosa, AL. I’m sure many of you were thinking like I was thinking, “If we can handle Arkansas our next big test will be LSU.” Well that’s how you think preseason. In reality, Florida will not be a walk in the park. Yea they have a new head coach that’s a Saban pupil, but what would be more gratifying than beating your mentor. I’m not too worried about Florida, but I do think they will throw the kitchen sink at us; it comes with the territory.

Don’t take your Crimson Colored Glasses off. There is no reason to do that. This week is another step to the SEC Championship. Our guys will get up for this game, just because it’s Florida and we have several players from Florida on our squad. They have been recruiting the top prospects before the Urban Meyer era, so they are loaded with speed. But thats not a huge problem for us, we got some burners on our team as well.

Why do we beat Florida? For any of you who don’t know by now….our defense is suffocating. Florida has two speedy guys that will line up all over the field in Demps and Rainey. They may gash us for a big play, but they aren’t going to able to consistently gain yards with those two backs between the tackles. I think we open the offense up a bit more this week, but we will still be conservative to protect our young Quarterback. We win by 2 scores.
